The LYF committee is a team of 8 dedicated volunteers. Each of them manages a portfolio that develops, promotes and executes the many tasks that make LYF happen. Starting with the Executive Team there is the President, Vice President and Treasurer. The other positions are Youth Events Manager, Volunteer Manager, Training & Development Manager, Fundraising Manager and Publicity & Media Manager.
The Committee meet on a regular monthly basis to review LYF’s progress and plan for the future. The 4 Big Day Out events and Camp are the main priorities, with socials, fundraisers and mentor recruitment events on top of that it’s a busy calendar year for a team who also work full time or study or both.
Being on the committee is also really rewarding. It’s a great personal development challenge you can undertake with an amazing group of people dedicated to benefiting the local community. It’s professionally very rewarding too with opportunities and experiences opening up through LYF’s many networks.
If you’d like to get more involved consider running for a position at this years AGM. Feel free to speak with any existing committee member, or even past members who are still involved in LYF. There are also opportunities through out the year to sign on as an officer in each portfolio which is a great way to introduce yourself to the committee and gain some valuable volunteer experience.
